Bo and Momo: COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign
During the summer of 2021, Judy created PCDC’s COVID-19 video campaign series: Bo and Momo: Love your family, Get vaccinated. Directing and producing the 4-part educational campaign, the target audience was directed towards senior citizens and young adults within Philadelphia Chinatown. The objective of the campaign was to combat the spread of misinformation on vaccines and encourage the community to get vaccinated. In order to empower the Philadelphia community, Judy created a simple, culturally sensitive message -
we are stronger together.
Judy directed, developed, produced, and managed all parts of the process including research, script writing, filming, editing, and uploading the video to various platforms. Chinese translations were included in order to make the resource language accessible to the community. Ultimately the campaign resulted in 2 community partnerships and over 4,000 vaccinations.
In collaboration with local artist Chenlin Cai, banners and posters were created out of the campaign’s branding and hung across the city.

Episodes continued…
After Episode 1, Judy released Episode 2 a month later creating promotional social media posts that led up to the release date. In order to open the conversation of vaccinations with those who were hesitant, Judy focused this episode on how to effectively communicate one’s emotions.
Throughout 2021 and 2022, the campaign became a 4-part educational series which continuously promoted COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots during the heart of the pandemic.
The video campaign resulted in 2 community partnerships and contributed to ~1,500 vaccinations in 5 months. Ultimately the campaign resulted in over 4,000 vaccinations.
